Early Morning Fire Destroys House in Dunkirk

A home in Dunkirk was destroyed by fire early this morning.

The Northern Hardin County Fire District was dispatched at around 4 Tuesday morning to 251 West Washington Street in the village.

The house was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival and was listed as a total loss.

The house was occupied by Ed Stroub.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling the blaze.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.

Mutual assistance was provided by fire departments from Kenton and Forest.

Dunkirk EMS also assisted at the scene.

Firefighters were on the scene until just before 8 Tuesday morning.
