A man was arrested after a pursuit with Ada Police Officers early Sunday morning.
According to a release from Ada Police Chief Alec Cooper, at around 12:35am on Sunday, an Ada officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near State Route 81 and State Route 235 in the Village of Ada.
The driver failed to stop and continued west at approximately 80 to 85 miles-per-hour.
Near the 1200 block of State Route 81, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and it struck a piece of farm equipment on nearby property.
The vehicle then flipped over and came to rest.
The driver, identified as 22-year-old Carson Shafer, exited the vehicle and ran from the Ada officer.
He was located at approximately 2:23a.m. in a nearby field and was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center prior to being booked into the Multi-County Jail in Marion.
Additional assistance was requested and provided by the Sheriff’s Offices from Hardin, Allen, Hancock and Wyandot Counties.
