A Findlay man was arrested after an incident in that city early this morning.

According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, an officer observed a vehicle traveling from a private drive westbound onto Broad Avenue at a high rate of speed.

The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect pulled into the parking lot of a business in the 800 block of West Trenton Avenue.

The suspect drove at a high rate of speed in the parking lot and at one time struck a gas meter causing a severe gas leak.

A second police cruiser arrived and both units were able to block the suspect’s vehicle forcing him to stop.

The driver, identified as 48 year old Christopher Allen, exited the car and was taken into custody on charges of failure to comply with the order of a police officer and was transported to the Hancock County Justice Center. He was cited for driving under suspension.

Columbia Gas was contacted to repair the gas leak.
