A Findlay man was arrested following a brief standoff with Findlay police officers Monday afternoon.

According to a release, officers assisted Findlay Municipal Court officers in serving an eviction at 704 Dayton Avenue.

As contact was made, the resident barricaded himself in the attic of a detached garage and threatened to use a firearm to commit suicide.

The man, identified as 38 year old Travis J. Essinger, had an active warrant for his arrest.

After a short time of negotiations, Essinger surrendered and was transported to the Hancock County Justice Center.

No firearm was located, and no one was injured during the incident.
