A 79-year-old Findlay man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday, after suffering a medical episode while driving. The incident occurred at Lester Avenue and Geffs Avenue at approximately 2:39 p.m.
According to a report from the Findlay Police Department, Gerald Kern Sr. was driving a 2008 Chevrolet HHR west on Lester Avenue when he attempted to turn onto Geffs Avenue. Kern experienced a medical emergency, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, strike the west curb, and crash into a tree.
Kern was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco EMS for suspected minor injuries.
No citations were issued due to the medical nature of the incident.
