Fire destroyed a building just outside of Forest in Wyandot County Thursday night.

The Marseilles Fire Department was dispatched at around 8:30 to the 17,000 block of County Highway 71.

The property is owned by Tim Wood.

Marseilles Fire Chief Steve Dickenson said the workshop on the property was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

The building as well as a vehicle and numerous tools inside were listed as a total loss.

Dickenson said the shifting winds at the time prevented the fire from spreading to a bigger workshop about 12 feet away and the house which is around 25 feet away.

Those buildings were not damaged.

The cause has not yet been determined

Mutual assistance was provided by fire departments from Forest, Pitt Township and Upper Sandusky.

There were no injuries, but Chief Dickenson added that firefighters worked in miserable conditions with the snow and wind to combat the blaze.
