WFIN reports that The Maumee Watershed Conservancy District approved a contract for a flood mitigation project for the Blanchard River in Findlay project during their Tuesday meeting.

The project could be started soon and be finished by September of 2019 which, Stantec Engineering anticipates will help lower the 100-year flood level in Findlay by approximately a foot.

$6.1 million bid was approved for Helms & Sons of Findlay. $5.4 million will come from money raised by Hancock County’s quarter percent sales tax. The City of Findlay will pay for the replacement of a sanitary sewer line at the cost of $634,000.
