The North Central Ohio Solid Waste District contacted officials in the Village of Forest regarding contamination of the recycling items that are picked up in the village.
This has been an on-going issue, and the amount of contamination in the recycles is at an unacceptable level.
Some residents are apparently including trash, rubbish, and construction materials in their recycle carts.
When that trash gets to the Solid Waste District it clogs and damages the machines that sort the recycles causing additional costs and manpower to sort it all out.
Items that are acceptable and not acceptable for recycling have been posted on the Village of Forest Facebook page.
Trash is picked up in Forest on Monday’s.
Recycle pickup is done every other Tuesday.
