Forest traffic stop results in two arrests

A man and woman were arrested on warrants after a traffic stop conducted in Forest Wednesday afternoon.

According to the report that was completed on Thursday from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy observed a car being driven by a woman who was known to have an active warrant for her arrest. The vehicle ended up on State Route 37 and headed into the Village of Forest.

The deputy contacted the Forest Police Department to stop the vehicle, which took place on 37 just north of West Gage Street.

The warrant for the driver, identified as Erica Barby, of Carey, was confirmed, and she was arrested by deputies from Wyandot County. A passenger, identified as John Hill, of Forest, also had a warrant for his arrest out of Wyandot County. After an investigation, Hill is said to have been in possession of a plastic bag that contained a controlled substance.

Deputies said the results of a test of the substance showed it was possible methamphetamine. Hill was also arrested on the warrant with additional charges pending.
