A former Kenton mayor has passed away.

Tom Ansley died Tuesday night after a short battle with cancer. He was 63.

Ansley was appointed interim mayor in May of 1999 following the death of Clay Flinn. He was elected in 2000 and served one term. Prior to that, he was a Kenton City Council member.

Ansley also owned and operated Ansley's Repair for over 30 years and for the past 15 years supported his wife Sara at Jitterz Coffee Shop.

A Celebration of Life service for Tom Ansley will be held at Central Church of Christ in Kenton on Sunday January 28 at 4pm. Friends may call from 1 until time of service at the church.

The Price McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is handling the arrangements.
