A former Marion school color guard instructor was arrested Wednesday for allegedly sending nude photos to a minor.

According to a release from the Marion Police Department, officers arrested 27 year old Alexander Freeman on Wednesday after a search warrant was executed at his house.

He has been charged with disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

The incident has been under investigation since late February after a complaint was received by the Marion Harding School Resource Officer concerning allegations of inappropriate telecommunications contact between the former contract band employee of the high school and a minor child who is not enrolled in the school district.

Freeman was employed by the district only during the fall season but had since remained on staff as a volunteer.

Upon being made aware of this complaint, he was immediately removed from participation in the program and banned from Marion City School property pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.

The release stated that at this time, there is no evidence to indicate that any improper conduct took place with a student actively enrolled in the Marion City School District, but the incident remains under investigation.
