Free Youth Fishing Derby at Indian Lake State Park Set for June 14
The Indian Lake State Park and the Ohio Division of Wildlife will hold a free Youth Fishing Derby on June 14.
The event is open to youth under 16, and they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Registration will open at 8:30am at the Moundwood shelter house, and the derby will begin at 9:00.
At 11:00 that morning, fishing will conclude and prizes will be handed out for the top 3 biggest fish, by length, and there will be a drawing for other prizes.
Participants should bring their own fishing rod, bait and chairs.
There will be a limited number of rods available that can be borrowed.
The event is being held in memory of Orvil Wickersham Jr.
