The biggest news through Workforce Development is the new enrollment period for the TechCred program on Jan 02, 2020 – Jan 31, 2020. Over 234 Ohio employers were approved for the TechCred program during the roll out enrollment the month of October 2019 while adding an additional 219 technology-focused credentials.

What Is TechCred?
TechCred helps Ohioans learn new skills and helps employers build a stronger workforce with the skills needed in a technology-infused economy.
These technology-focused credentials take a year or less to complete and prepare current and future employees for the technology jobs Ohio employers need.
Employers can receive up to $2,000 for each current or new employee who earns an industry-recognized, technology-focused credential — and up to $30,000 per funding round. Businesses of all sizes are eligible.
Who’s Eligibility?
Any Ohio registered employer that employs Ohio resident W-2 employees is eligible to apply. Employers of all sizes and in all industries are encouraged to apply. Only one application will be accepted per company. Agencies of the State of Ohio are not eligible to receive reimbursement.
