Juniors at Hardin Northern visited the National Air Force Museum at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton this week.
This was their field trip reward they earned by passing the American History AIR test last year.
While at the museum, the students completed a photo scavenger hunt and explored exhibits focusing on such famous events as the Berlin Airlift and the dropping of the atomic bomb.
While no one was brave enough to try one of the aircraft simulators, they did try their luck at a spacewalk.
Of particular interest was the retired Air Force One that served eight different presidents.
Students could walk inside and see where Lyndon Johnson took the oath of office and even saw where the casket that held John Kennedy’s body was kept.
More pictures from the trip can be found on the Hardin Northern Local School District’s Facebook page.
