Head Football Coach Brent Fackler Stepping-down After 36 Seasons at Kenton

According to a press release from Kenton High School Athletic Director Brett Purcell, Coach Brent Fackler has announced that he is stepping down as Head Football Coach at Kenton High School. Coach Fackler has been a staple on the Kenton Football sideline for the past 36 seasons. He came to Kenton in 1985 to serve as the Defensive Coordinator under then Head Coach Mike Mauk. Coach Fackler served in the Defensive Coordinator role until 2014 when he was promoted to Head Coach.

In his time as Head Coach, Fackler amassed a 42-32 overall record, a WBL championship, 3 playoff appearances, and a State Final 4 appearance. As Defensive Coordinator, Coach Fackler was a part of 9 WBL Championships, 10 playoff appearances, a State Final 4 appearance, 2 State Runner-Up finishes, and 2 State Championships. Coach Fackler has also made an immense impact on the numerous players and coaches that he worked with throughout his 39 total years of coaching football.

“Brent has been an integral part of developing the Kenton Football program into the successful program that it is today.” said Athletic Director Brett Purcell. “I greatly appreciate his leadership, counsel, and dedication to not only the Football program, but to Kenton City Schools, and the Kenton community. His presence on the sideline and within the program will definitely be missed.” The Kenton Athletic Department would like to thank Coach Fackler and his family or the countless hours dedicated, and sacrifices made, in the service of the Kenton Football program and a multitude of student-athletes.
