The Hardin Northern School District has announced the recipients for the 2018 Hall of Distinction.

 

.Bethany Elwood is a 1966 graduate of Hardin Northern.

 

She is well known as a successful volleyball coach at the school.

 

Her teams won 15 Conference championships, 8 District championships, a State Runner-Up title in 1984, and she finished her career with 403 wins and only 75 losses.

 

.Edward D. McCann was a member of the Class of 1951.

 

He was a Captain in the United States Air Force and was killed in action in Vietnam in 1966.

 

He was one of the first pilots to be chosen to fly the new Phantom F-4 fighter plane, which was a great honor at the time.

 

Captain McCann gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country, leaving behind a wife and four children.

 

Both will be inducted at a ceremony this May.
