Hardin Northern’s Government classes visited the Hardin County Courthouse in Kenton this week.
The students toured the courthouse, sat in on a criminal sentencing, and spoke with several county officials about the importance of local government and the legal system.
Max Trachsel helped to arrange the visit.
Commissioner Tim Striker, Judge Steve Christopher, and Chief Deputy Dennis Burns provided insight into the role of local government and the rights and responsibilities of citizens.
The students then had lunch at Our Place Family Dining.
