Over one-half-million dollars from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development will go to four Ohio public housing authorities to aid in the prevention of homelessness among veterans.
104 housing vouchers will be distributed to housing authorities representing Cleveland, Cincinnati, Akron, and Columbus, as part of the nearly-$47-million HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program.
Homeless veterans will be evaluated by a VA Medical Center, then referred to a local housing agency for their voucher.
More information on the HUD-VASH program and similar endeavors may be found at hud.gov.
