A Huntsville man escaped serious injuries in a motorcycle accident Tuesday night in Logan County.

WPKO Radio reported that 34 year old Robert Dye was riding east on State Route 540 when a semi operated by 46 year old Matthew Carlson, of New York, pulled from the Route 33 exit ramp and turned left onto 540.

In order to avoid hitting the semi, Dye laid the bike down on the roadway. He was wearing a helmet and was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Carlson was cited for failure to yield.
