Invenergy & Dominion Energy Celebrate Commissioning of Hardin Solar Energy Center

Kenton, OH (October 22, 2021) – Senior officials from renewable energy leaders Invenergy and Dominion Energy will be on hand with state, county and township leaders October 26, 2021 to officially cut the ribbon launching the Hardin I solar project in Hardin County, OH near the town of Alger.

The event will feature remarks by company leaders at 10:30 a.m. at the Hardin I solar facility on Township Road 120 in Hardin County, OH.

The initial application for project was approved by the Ohio Power Siting Board in 2018. Now operational, the project has a capacity of 150 megawatts (AC), enough to power about 40,000 typical homes. The Hardin I project features solar panels with a bi-facial energy collection system on a single axis design, which allows the panels to track the sun from horizon to horizon, maximizing generating efficiency.

Dominion Energy owns the project. Invenergy developed and constructed the project, and Invenergy Services, a subsidiary of Invenergy, is providing Operations and Maintenance and Balance of Plant services under a long-term agreement,

Speaking at the event will be Michael Kaplan, senior vice president for renewable development at Invenergy and Jim Eck, vice president and general manager for Dominion Energy Ohio and West Virginia.
