Search warrants were served today (Monday Aug 26) at two locations in Hardin County as an investigation is underway into a recipient of a revolving loan.
In April of this year, the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance and the Hardin County Commissioners announced that Kitchen’s Supermarket was the first recipient through the program.
Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart explained what led them to serve search warrants at the site of where the Kitchen’s Supermarket was to open, which is the old Kroger building on East Columbus Street in Kenton, and at the recipient’s residence, “The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance contacted us about some potentially fraudulent dealings with one of their loan recipients, the Revolving Loan recipient, and we have been conducting an investigation regarding that.”
He said at this point no arrests have been made, “This is more of a, just gathering information and potential evidence, and we will review it with the Prosecutor’s Office and go from there.”
Here is the complete release from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office:
Deputies of the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and the Hardin County Crime Task Force executed search warrants today at the site of the former Kenton Kroger store and at a rural Kenton residence.
The warrants were served in conjunction with an investigation into certain business irregularities reported by the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance.
