Investigation Launched into Comments Allegedly Made by HN Student or Students

Hardin Northern is investigating an alleged incident that occurred in the student section of Tuesday evening’s volleyball game.

According to a statement from Superintendent Jeff Price, the allegation involved an extremely “distasteful and disgusting” statement allegedly made by one or more students to an opposing player.

Price noted that the Hardin Northern Board of Education and the administration promote students being enthusiastic at athletic events, but in no way condones making any type of personal statements about opponents.

The superintendent appointed the district’s resource officer, an employee of the sheriff’s office, as the lead investigator on the matter.

In addition to taking statements from students, the investigator will also review video from the game and conduct other interviews.

Price said he would like to have a thorough and correct investigation concluded as quickly as possible.

Upon completion, the Hardin Northern administration will take appropriate action to discipline the student or students involved.
