Allen County EMA recently announced that Jared Gesler was sworn in recently as Allen County’s new EMA Director. Jared Gesler previously worked as a Combat Engineer and a Horizontal Construction Engineer with the Army National Guard where he was deployed to Afghanistan. He was involved in an array of duties including working as a Buffalo operator, Counter IED Operations and base defense. He was honorably discharged in 2018.
After returning to civilian life, he attended the Police Academy at Rhodes State College. He went on to serve as a Deputy Sheriff in Allen County and spent time as part of the county’s S.W.A.T team.
Since May, he served as the Interim Director of the Allen County EMA and recently served as Deputy Director of the Allen County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Allen County EMA congratulated Director Jared Gesler on his new position.
