Juvenile Driver Seriously Injured in Crawford County Crash

A juvenile was injured in a crash that occurred just after nine Tuesday night on State Route 4 in Crawford County.

According to a release from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Patrol, the juvenile was driving north on 4 and attempted to pass a vehicle being operated by 23 year old Samantha Burchett, of Bucyrus.

The juvenile’s car struck Burchett’s vehicle and ended up travelling off the east side of the road where it struck a tree and overturned.

The juvenile was ejected and was flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

Burchett was not injured.

Troopers were involved in two vehicle pursuits with the juvenile prior to the crash.

Both pursuits were terminated due to dangerous speeds and erratic driving.

The crash remains under investigation.
