Kenton High School Boys Varsity Soccer ties Elida High School 2-2
In the WBL opener for both teams last night in Elida the Cats and bulldogs played to a 2-2 draw.
Kenton moves to 2-0-2 (0-0-1 WBL) on the season.
Connor Defibaugh opened the scoring on an assist from Asher Bridenstine with 15 minutes left in the half.
The Cats went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. Elida scored 5 minutes in the 2nd half and that goal was answered less than a minute later when Connor Defibaugh found Asher Bridenstine to give the Cats a 2-1 lead.
The Bulldogs countered with the final tally 10 minutes later to make it 2-2. Kenton outshot Elida 6-4 in the contest and outcornered Elida 6-2.
Devin Miller had 2 saves in net for the Cats.
The JV cats fell 3-0 to Elida and MJ Harper had 5 saves in goal.
The JV Cats fall to 0-2 on the season.
The JV cats are back in action Tuesday, September 7 when they open for the girls in Bath.
Varsity Cats are back in action Saturday when they play a doubleheader in Riverdale with the girls varsity.
The girls play at 5 and boys play at 7.
