Kenton City Council held its third regular session of the year Monday evening.
After coming back from Executive Session to discuss labor negotiations, the Board approved a tentative agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union.
Council members discussed a water supply loan agreement for construction of water lead line replacement on North Detroit Street and a professional services agreement for right-of-way acquisition for the Columbus Street sidewalk project.
Both of those resolutions were on first reading.
After a third reading, Council passed a resolution authorizing the city to apply for, accept and enter into a water supply revolving loan account agreement for planning, design and/or construction of water treatment facility.
City Street Crew Leader John Aisel shared an update on Kenton’s snow and ice removal efforts.
He highlighted the challenges faced with a small crew and limited resources, and he expressed gratitude for the teamwork among city departments and emergency services.
Kenton Mayor Lynn Webb recognized the Kenton Police Department for their traffic control enforcement efforts.
She said led by Chief Dennis Musser, the men and women of the department have done a great job enforcing the road closed restrictions since the start of the Detroit Street construction project.
The next regular meeting of Kenton City Council will be on February 24.
