The Kenton City Council met last night in Council Chambers.
The Council moved forward with getting “Phase One” of the Downtown Revitalization Plan underway. By a vote of 6-1 the Council voted to enter into a Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA). This plan seeks to upgrade the existing water facilities coming at an amount of $710,000 in a loan agreement. The $710,000 dollar loan agreement comes of the $1.9 million dollar estimated cost of Phase One.
Along with entering into WSRLA, the Council also approved to enter into a Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF). This loan will allow the City to plan, design and construct wash water facilities. The Water Pollution Loan Fund comes in at 1.2 million dollars through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio Water Development Authority. Within this Resolution, the Council will have to designate a dedicated repayment source for the loan.
And finally, Kids Day will be held this Saturday from 12-3 at Wharton Park here in Kenton. The next meeting of the Kenton City Council will be held on August 27th at 7 o’clock in Council Chambers.
