Kenton City Council met for their 4th regular session of 2023 Monday evening.

During the proceedings we learned the Kenton Fire Department’s engine 71 is currently in Findlay receiving repairs for a number of issues. Fire Chief Donnelly stated the department has applied for around $69,000 in appliances to fill equipment voids. Donnelly would add that while nothing looks intentional fire activity is up over the last month and encouraged citizens to be careful with appliances especially supplemental heating units during this time of year.

Community Improvement Director Jacqualine Fitzgerald shared the the new metal roof on the pool building is complete and the brush along the water line at the quarry has been cleared

Safety Service Director Cindy Murray pointed out the stoplight near Walmart is now flashing yellow. It will remain this way for a 90 day probation period with the end goal being the removal of the light altogether.
