Kenton Mayor Lynn Webb announced that the city is looking into requiring permits for oversize loads and oversize weight loads on trucking.
The mayor said this would help the city generate much needed revenue.
She said she is hoping that any revenue generated by the permits will go into a street fund. As it is, the state currently pays 80% for projects on state routes, and the city pays 20%. With 5 state routes through Kenton, she said the city needs all the help it can get.
Heading up the project is new staff intern Alex Haushalter.
The soon to be senior at Miami University drew high praise from Mayor Webb, who stated that she is already half way through completing the ordinance.
