The Kenton Wildcats wrapped up sole possession of 4th place Thursday night when they defeated Elida 4-2.
The win improves the Cats to 9-3-4 (4-2-3 WBL) Nick Anderson started the scoring for the Cats 15 minutes into the first half when took a pass from Riley Risner and buried a shot to make it 1-0. After Elida tied it up 10 minutes later Riley Risner gave the Cats a 2-1 lead going into halftime.
After Elida made it 2-2, KP Miller headed home a throw in from Reed Cook to give the Cats the lead 3-2.
Less than 2 minutes later KP Miller found Reed Cook for the final goal on the evening. Brent Rader recorded 5 saves in goal for the Cats on the evening. The Cats will host either Wapakoneta or Liberty Benton Thursday, October 17 at Merlold Field for a 7pm contest.
The JV Cats defeated the Bulldogs 2-0 and improved to 11-5 (5-3 WBL) Colby Quay and Devin Hastings had goals for the Wildcats and Parker Rarey had an assist on the evening. Devin Miller recorded the shutout with 3 saves for the Cats.
