The Kenton-Hardin Health Department has been notified of a possible phishing scam in other counties in Ohio.

There have been reports of calls claiming they are scheduling for vaccines and asking for your social security number and credit card information.

Health agencies scheduling appointments will not ask for your credit card information for payment over the phone.

While some providers may need identifying information for insurance billing, if you are nor comfortable sharing that over the phone, you are able to provide it at your vaccine appointment.

The health department said residents should protect their personal information.
