Kenton girls fall short on comeback bid yesterday to Bluffton. The Pirates took a 2-0 lead to half and Kenton tied the score before allowing the winning goal midway through the second half. Kenton got on the board 5 minutes into the second half when Emily Pees headed a corner to Gabi Wetherill for the finish. At the 30 minute mark Pees again assisted a long shot to Emma Hougendobler that made its way past the Pirate goalie. Bluffton then scored midway through the half to take the lead for the final time. Kenton fought hard but could not find the equalizer to end the game in a loss.
The JV girls played well but lost also 1-0 to the Pirate JV girls.
Kenton is back in action Tuesday at Wapak with JV starting at 6 and Varsity after at 7.
