One person was killed in a crash that occurred Tuesday evening in the 7000 block of U.S. 68 north of Kenton.
According to a release from Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart, 45 year old Joseph Wayne Hoey, of Kenton, attempted to pass a semi while driving south on 68. The car was struck by a northbound semi being operated by David Cherry, of Canada.
Hoey was pronounced dead at the scene. Cherry was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Multi County Crash Investigation Team, Hardin County Volunteers in Police Service, Kenton Fire Department, BKP Ambulance District and Osborne’s Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
