At a recent meeting of Kenton Rotary Club, Jennifer Hattery, from the United Way of Hardin County gave an update.
Most people know of United Way as a giving organization.
Locally, an annual giving campaign, employer deductions a football drop or other fund raisers happen to raise money that are distributed locally.
That is true, but they do not provide direct assistance to people.
They provide dollars to local nonprofits who in turn help our community.
Any nonprofit who wishes can attend an inter-agency meetings should contact the office at: (419) 675-1860.
There are also volunteer opportunities. Days of Caring is a community wide effort that brings together volunteers and local businesses to provide short term project focused volunteer service with non-profit and public organizations.
This year’s Days of Caring will be Friday June 10th & Saturday June 11, 2022. The annual two-day event gives volunteers an opportunity to assist community organizations in achieving their goals, learn more about solutions to community issues and experience the intrinsic rewards of contributing to the well-being of our area.
Time is short to sign up.
