Kenton Softball falls to Waynesfield 9 – 2

Kenton Varsity Wildcats couldn’t keep up with Waynesfield-Goshen Varsity Tigers and fell 9-2 on Thursday at TBD.

Waynesfield-Goshen Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the first after Tarynn Vorhes hit a solo home run to left field.

Waynesfield-Goshen Varsity Tigers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Makenna Shaw singled, Kenton Varsity Wildcats committed an error, and , each scoring one run.

Vorhes earned the win for Waynesfield-Goshen. The starter gave up six hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking none. Alexis Ratliff took the loss for Kenton Wildcats. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on six hits, striking out six and walking three.

Kylee Kavanagh went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Kenton Varsity Wildcats in hits.

Shaw, Taryn Tate, Vorhes, Tatelyn Faraglia, and Savannah Spillis each drove in one run for Waynesfield-Goshen Varsity Tigers. Spillis stole three bases. Waynesfield-Goshen Varsity Tigers stole six bases in the game. Waynesfield-Goshen Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game.

Kenton Varsity Wildcats will travel to Van Wert for their next game on Tuesday.
