On Saturday, February 23, the Top Twenty show choir competed at the Voices in the Grove Competition in Grove City, Ohio.

The group had a very successful day, which culminated with the group being named Grand Champions of the Small Mixed High School division against four other schools.
Additionally, the group’s score was high enough to qualify them for the evening Finals portion of the competition for the second time this season, where they competed against all large school groups, including Olentangy Orange, Colerain (Cincinnati), and the Heid School of the Performing Arts (Akron).

Aubrey Thrush was named Top Twenty’s best performer for this competition.

Top Twenty is comprised of 35 singer-dancers, 20 band members, and 8 crew members.

They have two competitions left this season: March 16 at Sheridan High School in Thornville, and March 23 at Wapakoneta High School.

The show choir year ends with the annual Cabaret performances, May 17-19 at Kenton High School.

Any groups interested in having the Top Twenty perform for local events should contact Todd Daquino via email at daquinot@kentoncityschools.org, or through the school at 419-673-1286.
