During the traffic stop, a Lima Police Department K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics being present.

The driver, identified as McKenzie Kirkman then fled on foot and while running, he discarded a large object and threw it in the street.

The object was recovered, and was found to be approximately 258 grams of suspected cocaine.

After the traffic stop, a search warrant was prepared for 381 South McDonnell Street in Lima where suspected marijuana, approximately 70 grams of suspected crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, one stolen handgun, and over $10,000 in cash were located.
