BRECKSVILLE, Ohio (July 8, 2020) —The Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter (LFA, GOC) is hosting a nationwide webinar, “The Lupus Diet: Is there one?” on July 14 at 7 p.m.

The featured speaker is Gretchen Spetz, MS, RDN, LD, a certified dietitian in Northeast Ohio who runs The Functional Kitchen.

Spetz uses medical nutrition therapy to address issues like inflammation and low energy, which are common symptoms of lupus. The webinar aims to clear up misconceptions and give attendees ways to use diet as a tool in managing lupus.

“We get a lot of questions about whether there’s a lupus diet,” said Leslie Tierney, RN and vice president of operations at the LFA, GOC. “There are so many different claims out there, but not all of that information is reliable. Having insights from a certified professional can really get people on the right track with their nutrition,” said Tierney.

This webinar is the latest installment of the Ask the Experts series, the Lupus Foundation of America’s national program that brings in experts from various fields to speak on hot topics related to lupus.
