Man Arrested After Brief Pursuit in Findlay

A Findlay is facing multiple charges after an incident with Findlay Police at just before midnight on Thursday.

According to a release, an officer stopped a pickup truck for a traffic violation in the 1800 block of Brookside Drive.

After stopping initially, the driver, identified as Ian Fleck, age 37, refused to exit the vehicle and attempted to drive off.

The officer attempted to pull the driver out in an effort to stop the vehicle.

In the process, the officer was knocked to the ground and was nearly struck by the fleeing vehicle.

A pursuit was initiated, which ended a short time later when Fleck ran off the right side of the road where the vehicle struck multiple mailboxes and a traffic sign.

At that point, Fleck exited the vehicle and ran from the scene.

He was quickly located and arrested on charges of felony operating a vehicle intoxicated and failure to comply with an officer.

Fleck was transported to the Hancock County Jail.
