A Medina, Ohio man was killed in a motorcycle crash that occurred Monday afternoon in Allen County.
According to a release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Patrol, a Honda Goldwing Trike, operated by Curtis Sims, age 66, was northbound on North Cole Street when it crossed the centerline and traveled off of the left side of the road.
The Honda struck a ditch and overturned, throwing Sims from the vehicle.
Sims was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen County Coroner.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Allen County Coroner’s Office, American Township Fire and EMS, as well as Able’s Towing.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to always wear protective equipment when operating motorcycles.
