The Lima News reports that 63-year-old John Jackson, the Lima man who robbed The Lima Superior Federal Credit Union last month, has been sentenced.

In accepting a recommendation agreed to by prosecutors and the defendant, Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Reed sentenced Jackson to eight years in prison. Jackson took more than $7,000 of an estimated $9,000 from the robbery and will be returned to the credit union. Jackson was ordered to make restitution for the remainder of the balance.

Jackson was out on parole after serving 16 years in prison for a 1998 robbery when he robbed the credit union.
