Rock Your Socks World Down Syndrome Day is scheduled for Monday March 21.
It is an annual global awareness day advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people who have Down syndrome.
It’s celebrated on the 21st day of the third month because people who have Down syndrome have three copies of the 21st chromosome.
Some ways to celebrate include:
Wear your most colorful or mismatched socks and wear blue and yellow, the colors used to raise awareness for Down syndrome.
Remember, we are more alike than different. People who have Down syndrome can and will do all the same things you do, it just takes a little more time. Be kind and be inclusive.
