Citizens of Marion County are being advised that scammers are continuing to call citizens claiming to be members of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
A statement from the Sheriff’s Office states that they will never contact anyone with a warrant and demand money in lieu of arrest.
You should never give anyone personal information or bank account information over the telephone and contact the office if you feel that you have fallen victim to this type of a scam.
Over the weekend, scammers claimed to be a deputy and even used the name of one of the local judges.
Marion County residents should continue to contact the Central Dispatch Center if you feel that you are being scammed.
