Marion Man Facing Charges for Stealing Thousands of Dollars in Tools in Wyandot County

A Marion man is facing charges after thousands of dollars in tools were stolen at a residence in Wyandot County this week.

According to a release from Wyandot County Sheriff Todd Frey, deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of State Route 199, Upper Sandusky, to investigate a breaking and entering.

Deputies were able to develop a suspect, and with the help of the Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit, they began gathering intel about the suspect’s current vehicle and residence in Marion.

Working with the MARMET Drug Task Force, they began conducting surveillance on the house in Marion.

Detectives say they observed a male, later identified as Michael L. Cummings, exiting the residence allegedly with suspected stolen Milwaukee power tools.

A search of the residence was then conducted resulting in the recovery of additional power tools.

The case will be submitted to the Wyandot County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of breaking and entering and felony theft charges.

The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office and Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit thanked the public for their vigilance and for reporting criminal activity.
