Marion Post Announces 2020 Employee Recognition Award of Excellence

Marion – Ohio State Highway Patrol Administrative Professional Lori Kaple was selected as the 2020 Marion Post Employee of the year. She was then selected as the 2020 Bucyrus District Employee of the Year. The Bucyrus District encompasses 9 counties, 7 patrol posts and a District Headquarters.

The selection of Administrative Professional Kaple is in recognition of outstanding service during 2020 at the Marion Post. She was nominated by Post Commander Lance Shearer. “Lori, is extremely dedicated to her job. She was chosen due to her technical job knowledge and ability, enthusiastic work attitude, teamwork, and prompt courteous response to the public’s request for information and assistance.”

Administrative Professional Kaple assisted a trooper with an older gentleman who was lost and confused. She noticed during the conversation the gentleman was becoming more confused and called a squad. The gentleman had bleeding on the brain and her quick actions help prevent further injury or possible loss of life.

Administrative Professional Kaple joined the Highway Patrol in 1992 and has served at the Marion Post since 2015. She has also served at the Bucyrus Post. Lori received the Employee Recognition Award at the Bucyrus Post in 2011 and 2004. She also received a Certificate of Recognition in 1994.

Administrative Professional Kaple and her husband, Brett, live in Bucyrus and have four children, Jenna and Jacob Maddy, and Chloe and Ruth Kaple.
