Marion Post Announces Trooper of the Year

Marion – Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew M. Shellhouse has been selected 2021 Trooper of the Year at the Marion Post.

The selection of Trooper Shellhouse, 30, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2021 at the Marion Post.

Fellow officers stationed at the Marion Post chose Trooper Shellhouse based on his leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.

Trooper Shellhouse joined the Highway Patrol in 2015.

He has been assigned to the Marion Post throughout his career.

He is originally from McCutchenville, Ohio and graduated from Mohawk High School.

Trooper Shellhouse served his country in the United States Army and National Guard prior to joining the Highway Patrol.

Trooper Shellhouse received 3 commendation letters and has served as a Field Train ing Officer twice.

Other Highway Patrol awards received include the Health and Physical Fitness Award, Safe Driving Award, Educational Award and Military Recognition Award.
