At least three Hardin County schools have announced that masks will be optional for staff and students during the upcoming new school year.

The Ada School District will continue to have enhanced cleaning and will encourage students to maintain good personal hygiene.

They will also distance students when possible.

Ridgemont will recommend masks be worn, but it is optional for staff and students. Disposable masks will be provided if requested.

Ridgemont will also not require COVID vaccines, calling that a personal decision.

Upper Scioto Valley stated that mask wearing is a personal choice and will not require them for staff, students and visitors.

The district is asking students and staff to continue monitoring their health for signs and symptoms of COVID.

Those testing positive will be quarantined for 10 days from the test date.

The school will continue sanitation procedures that were put in place last year.
