The Kenton Lions club met on Wednesday April 6, 2022, at the Kenton Elks.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Lion President Aaron Osborn with 18 members and 4 guests present.
President Lion Aaron Osborn led with the pledge and a prayer. The meeting was adjourned and reconvened at 6:59 pm following a meal.
Guest speaker Amber Conley Director of Children’s Services at Hardin County Job and Family Services was introduced by Lion Bill Keller. She provided a dynamic presentation on how Children’s Services worked from a report of concern to the completion of an investigation. Amber stated that in Hardin County over the last several years they have had between 200 to 300 reports that were investigated per year and that they have 45 to 60 days’ time frame to complete the assessment for the investigation. She also touched on positive aspects that Children’s Services provides, not only to families receiving services, but also to community families.
Time for questions and answers followed the presentation.
A financial report was shared in conclusion of Lion’s Roar “Still Alive at 75” fund raiser. Members also has a brief discussion of future fund raisers.
Lion Kirk Cameron sponsored application for two new members, Hayden Ellis and Rick Collins.
Membership was approved.
50/50 drawing was won by Lion Cindy Keller.
