New MHRSB Staff Member

Amanda Weller is a new team member at the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties. She started in early July as an AmeriCorps VISTA.

Amanda attends The Ohio State University in Lima. She previously received an Associates Degree from OSU. Now, she is finishing her last semester of her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Her background is multi-faceted. She has worked with people with disabilities and as a local event manager.

Serving as an AmeriCorps member, Amanda worked with at-risk youth in community gardens. The AmeriCorps VISTA program was “Addressing Ohio’s Opioid Epidemic.” The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities developed the program to support the community response to opioids and addiction.
Her MHRSB role focuses on reducing mental health and addiction stigma. Amanda will do this by increasing educational opportunities through service provider trainings. She will also strengthen community relationships through community events.
