A warm and breezy day greeted those who attended the Hardin County Fair on opening day Tuesday.

Actual attendance was 5401.

Estimated total attendance for opening day in 2019 was 7436.

The Hardin County Fair is using a new computerized ticketing system in an effort to obtain more accurate attendance data.

While ticket numbers may appear to be drastically different compared to years past, there are multiple factors that determine fair attendance.

The Band Show attracted 772 people Tuesday evening, compared to 805 in 2019.

The 2021 Hardin County Queen is Brenna Flowers from Hardin Northern. She talked about what she is looking forward to the most in her role as Queen, “I’m really excited to meet new people, and I just get to interact with everybody and get to meet everybody. I think it’s going to be a fun week.”

The Fair King for this year is Jake Bushong, from Upper Scioto Valley. He too talked about what it means for him to serve as King, “I think I’m most excited to go meet new people and go kind of make everybody enjoy the fair and really support my community.”

The fair runs through this Sunday September 12 at the fairgrounds in Kenton.
